Acknowledged for its Asian expertise, Insider Journeys’ scooped the category which recognises the highest Australian standards of excellence in a company which packages international or domestic products. KateMcCue_high resolutionFirst-Ever American Female Captain. For the first time in the cruise industry – and in Celebrity Cruises’ history – an American female will take the helm of a mega-ton cruise ship. At 37 years of age, San Francisco native Kate McCue will command Celebrity Summit– a 91,000-ton, 294 metre ship in the Celebrity Cruises fleet, sailing between the eastern United States and Bermuda.

The modern luxury cruise brand, which operates a fleet of 10 ships, has elevated McCue to the position of Captain based on her 15 years of successful experience and leadership in the maritime industry. During her tenure, McCue has managed ship logistics while sailing worldwide itineraries, including Europe, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, and along the Panama Canal.

MSC to host 1.1 million passengers on board its ships across the continent. The recently published 2015-2016 Cruise Industry News Annual Report declared MSC Cruises the number one cruise line in Europe, including in the Mediterranean. The Report, which is one of the most reputable sources of information for the industry, stated that MSC Cruises conquered the leading rank in the industry thanks to a deployed capacity across the Continent of about 1.1 million passengers.

Cuba picFirst Ever Extreme Bike Tour to Cuba. For Riders and also pillion passengers, adventure seekers have a brand new destination to explore by motorbike, with one of the world’s leading motorcycle tour companies, Extreme Bike Tours, launching its first-ever Cuban tour in 2016.

The first tour outside Asia offered by the company since its formation by adrenalin provider, Zander Combe, in 2011, the new 13-day Cuba Motorcycle tour will have two departures in 2016 – February 21 and March 6.
